Parmesan Chicken Bake

Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Brush each chicken breast with melted butter, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish, then pour marinara sauce over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and continue baking for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then serve!

Chef John's Chicken Parmesan Bake

Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, flour, garlic powder, and basil.
- Beat egg and milk together in another bowl.
- Cut chicken breasts in half horizontally to make 8 pieces. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Dip each chicken piece first in the egg mixture, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken in batches and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes total.
- Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish, then pour marinara sauce over the top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and continue baking for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then enjoy!
