Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
3. Using a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
4. Bake the chicken meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside.
5. In a large saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat until warmed through. Add the cooked chicken meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat.
6. Transfer the chicken meatballs and sauce to an oven-safe baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs.
7. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh basil and enjoy!
